savannah

i had a great weekend with my sister in town. yesterday had lunch at a really cute place here in hilton head where everything is homemade. went to the paperback exchange and got some old books. then we took my kids to savannah and stayed in a bed and breakfast that was built in the late 1800's. if you have never been to savannah, it is one of the most beautiful cities.

every block has a square which is essentially a beautiful park. today the kids took their scooters and we went to forsythe park. there is a beautiful, white fountain there and they turned the water green for the upcoming st. patricks day. we sat in the sun (78 degrees here today) and drew in our art journals while the kids played. had an incredible lunch in a restaurant that in the 1800's was a funeral parlor. its called The Mansion and has a hotel adjoining it. the decor was so cool. great atmosphere. then we walked up and down broughton st. they have a new store there that sells honey. you can taste all kinds of honey. it was SO good. and they sell products that have honey in them.

i think this is going to be my last post for awhile. i am going to take a break. just not into it lately. i may post some art deck cards just to keep up but thats it for now.

I've been sort of sick all weekend. up all last night feeling nauseous and thought i was going to pass out several times today. yukko! but i'm better now. so many people have been sick around here. so now i'm just drained. so for me it was an uneventful weekend......

last weeks art deck challenge was to use a spring ad in your card. i used this one from a catalogue cover....can't remember which one now. spring always reminds me of easter which is why i chose this ad.

looks like everyone is gearing up for inspired. i'm jealous of you all!!! but i am going to try to do something new this year like journalfest with anahata katkin and teesha moore maybe. i'm off to bed to recoup..........

Today was a wonderful day. First of all I have my computer back. I must say they fixed it very, very quickly even though one part was backordered. And it was under warranty so that was good. We went to a beautiful daffodil field today where you can pick your own flowers.

Sage went there on a field trip last week and I decided we all needed to go because they smelled SO good. The smell reminded me of being in the south of france at the perfumeries. Its amazing how a wonderful smell can instantly put you into a good mood. So now I have about 6 vases of daffodils all over the house.

Since I have my computer back I was able to scan in my art card for last week which was about where you are......on that day. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

i am using my OLD computer since i have been having major problems with my usual one and had to send it off to HP for repair. Probably has something to do with it falling off the bed???? oh well. so now i'm stuck with my SLOW one with no letter AA so i keep having trouble typing and have to retype every word with an A in it. Plus I don't have any new pictures on this computer. so i have posted a photo that was taken in august of 2005 at my parents house when sage was not even one and kaden was almost 3.

my sister is coming to hilton head tonight for work so it will be good to get to see her even if its not for very long.

i have been feeling very stifled in this blog since a certain SOMEONE i know has found it and decided to read it and RIDICULE things i say.....yes you know who you are.... so my posts feel limited and shallow. i'm sure you wouldn't call it RIDICULE but thats what my perception is.

this has been very quiet hour here since i had to put 2 fighting and bickering children into their rooms for a LONG time. i think i need to do that more often????? after yesterdays constant bickering i really didn't want a repeat today. i hope everyone had a lovely valentines day. so many things i would love to say........

really i am actually in a good mood today despite the fact that this post doesn't really convey that!!!

My word for 2009 is Transcend. I explained that in another post.

Next was the question what 3 words would you like people to use to describe you.....i'm don't know that people would actually use these to describe me but it is what i would like so i'm working on it.

Lastly what things do you find comfort in??? so many things but my soft blanket, my family, reading, music, etc.

My little Sage got her first haircut today....that is not including the one she gave herself before Christmas. She's such a happy, funny kid but she was so serious during the haircut.
